Posted the pictures of the cab installed on the 7810 (pics 17,18,19). The heater isn't hooked up yet, waiting for the alternator kit to get delivered. Don't want to overdo it until we have enough power to push everything.
As long as you wear hearing protection, that's one comfortable ride.

I never realized how much difference there was between a 'factory' cab and the aftermarket ones until we had a bunch of both.
The fleet is now divided up according to seniority, the factory cabs get nabbed by the senior staff while the 'youngsters' get the aftermarket units.
In warmer weather, especially when just doing cleanups, the guys often lift the doors off the aftermarket units, they claim it's actually quieter with the door off.

I guess some of us grunts have learned to enjoy what we are able to get our hands on (LOL).
The factory cabs are certainly nice units, but for starting without one, these aftermarket cabs are pretty nice. The biggest advantage the factory cabs have is visibility. The visibility is so much better in those units, it takes some getting used to in the aftermarket cabs.
Winter will return...probably sonner than later. ....

Beagle, Nice cab! I also like the plow you have mounted on the front. Is the lift cylinder underneath the tractor? It looks that way in the pictures. Very interesting design. How does it work and why did you do it that way instead of putting the lift cylinder on the front? Thanks ....

Toolin, we purchased the blade at an auction, we think it is a blade that originally was actuated by the 3-pt. The hydraulic lift mechanism utilizes a link arm and bell crank. This simplified the float bracket on the lift. Although the FEL valve has float, we wanted the blade to float, and trip, at the mount.
You can't see the rest of the mount in the picture, but the blade pivot bracket is fabricated to put the plow impact directly through the front frame rails. The lift bell crank is under the tractor since the entire pivot assembly is in front of the tractor. Works out well for short frame tractors like the B-series. The rest of the sub-frame hangs from the mid-mount mower brackets, but takes no plow loading. It's all in the frame before then.
This type of mount has worked out well for us on several different applications. Keeps the hydraulics up and out of the way. ....

Note to file...Install the 40amp alternator upgrade kit BEFORE installing the cab. It will eliminate 6 hrs of work dis-assembling and re-assembling the cab to access the relay under the cowl.
HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEBODY. ....

Art, we do have several Laurin cabs in the fleet, buying so many units in one shot had everybody scrambling to come up with enough units.
We have some of just about every one made. The Laurin is the best of the after-market units, but still not as good as the factory unit.
In fact, without getting into a 'colour war' here, I hired a guy this year who ran a 'Greene' machine last year, he was amazed at how much quieter the factory cab on our machine was, and much better visibility too.
Kenneth, the factory cab clears all opening panels. Nothing needs to be removed to get to a panel or component.

Murf, I don't believe you can ever or should ever be able to beat a factory cab but I've seen it done before. Going back to the seventies when cabs were first hitting farm tractors we saw quite a few of what I'd call hack jobs to try to keep up with the competition. Deere is supposed to be working a getting there cab up to the standards of the other companies although they haven't said as to it maybe a new model or another update. ....
